Why county-wide

Greater Manchester is one travel-to-work area and one housing market, but the removals trade here is still organised town by town. You get firms that know Bolton inside out and go quiet when you mention Stockport, and firms that live in the city centre and treat Wigan as the edge of the map.

That is fine when you are moving three streets. It is less useful when you are moving from Ashton to Altrincham, or out of a Salford Quays apartment into a house in Ramsbottom — which, given how this county actually works, is a very normal thing to be doing.

So we set up to cover the whole thing. Ten boroughs, the towns inside them, and the edges where the county runs into Cheshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire. That breadth is also what makes the long-distance and European side viable: the same planning discipline that gets a lorry into a Saddleworth lane gets it to Faro.

What we actually do

House moves are the bulk of it — terraces, semis, detached houses, the ordinary business of families changing address. Flats and apartments have grown into a large share as Manchester and Salford built upwards. Man-and-van work covers the smaller jobs properly rather than badly. Offices and commercial units move out of hours. Storage catches everything that cannot go straight from A to B.

Then there is the distance work: nationwide hauls down the M6 and up to Scotland, and a European arm running to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Those are not bolt-ons. They are a meaningful share of what we do, and they are why we bother with proper inventories and customs documentation rather than treating overseas moves as an occasional novelty.

What we will not claim

You will not find invented awards on this site, borrowed logos, or testimonials attributed to publications that never wrote about us. You will not find a price list either — not because we are cagey, but because a number attached to a bedroom count is meaningless until someone has seen your loft and your staircase.

What you will get is a survey, a written quote, a job sheet the crew actually reads, and a straight answer when something is going to be harder than you were hoping.
