A European move out of Greater Manchester has two halves that people tend to merge into one. The first half is a UK long-distance job: collecting in Bolton or Stockport or Wigan, running down the M6 and around to the M25, and reaching Kent. The second half is the international part — the crossing, the customs, and the run across the Continent to your new address.

Customs is the part that changed after Brexit and the part most people worry about. Fairly, but it is administrative rather than mysterious: a proper inventory, evidence that you are genuinely moving your home, and the right transit declarations. Which European countries do you cover from Greater Manchester?

Does my move go by road or by sea?
Road, via the Channel Tunnel or a ferry crossing depending on the route and the vehicle. For household moves out of the North West, road groupage is almost always the sensible method — it avoids container handling at both ends and keeps your belongings on one vehicle.
What paperwork do I need since Brexit?
A detailed inventory of everything travelling, proof of your move — typically a rental agreement or property purchase at the destination — and identification. Depending on the country and your residency status there may be a transfer-of-residence relief to claim. We prepare the transit documentation and tell you exactly what we need from you.
Will I be charged duty on my own furniture?
Normally not, where the goods are used household effects moving with you as part of a change of residence and the relief is claimed correctly. That relief has conditions, and getting the inventory and evidence right is what keeps it straightforward. New items bought shortly before the move are treated differently.
How long does a European move take?
That depends on the route, the customs clearance and the consolidation schedule — a groupage load leaves when the vehicle is planned for that corridor, not on a fixed weekly slot. Your written quote sets out the expected window for your specific route.
Can you collect from outside Greater Manchester?
Yes. Most of our European work starts here, but we collect across the North West and beyond — a load heading for Spain will happily pick up in Liverpool, Leeds or the Midlands on the way south if the timing lines up.
Do you handle the delivery at the other end, or hand it over?
We deliver into the property, not to a depot. Access at the destination gets checked in advance the same way it does here — narrow streets in an old Italian town centre or a Portuguese hillside village need planning just as much as a Salford tower does.
