Privacy policy

What we collect when you contact us, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Greater Manchester Removals operates this website and is the data controller for the personal information described below. You can reach us at hello@greatermanchesterremovals.co.uk.

What we collect

When you submit the quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address, pickup address, drop-off address, your preferred moving date if you give one, and any notes you add. If you email or call us instead, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation.

Our server logs the IP address a form submission came from. This is used to limit automated abuse of the form and for nothing else.

Why we hold it

To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange a survey, and — if you go ahead — carry out the move. That is our legitimate interest in responding to a request you made, and where a booking follows, the performance of a contract with you.

We do not sell your details, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote.

Who sees it

Our own staff, and the operational crew assigned to your move. Where your move involves a third party we necessarily work with — a shipping line, a customs agent for a European move, or a storage facility — we share only what that party needs to do its part.

Form submissions are transmitted to our internal enquiry system. The site uses Google reCAPTCHA to distinguish genuine submissions from automated ones, which involves Google processing limited technical data under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept only as long as is useful for following up, then deleted. Records relating to completed moves are retained for as long as we are required to keep them for accounting, insurance and legal purposes.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and which are not. It tells us about traffic patterns, not about you individually. No advertising or profiling cookies are set by this site.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it where we have no continuing need to keep it, and object to how we are using it. Email us and we will deal with it.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here.
